Carrier Ethernet Certification Program
World Wide Packets provides a Carrier Ethernet Certification Program to provide its customers and partners with the ability to build, strengthen and broaden their knowledge of Carrier Ethernet technologies, as well as encourage the professional development of technical and sales personnel.
The Certification Program offers six certifications at four levels in either a Sales or Technical track. All Professional Certifications are valid for two years and are maintained via annual re-certification training and exams designed to keep pace with new features and product evolution.
Participants begin the Certification Program by completing either a Technical or Sales Associate course, which include course work and examinations. After receiving an Associate Certification, participants may work towards the completion of advanced course work, hands-on experience and periodic testing to receive advanced certifications. To keep participants on track toward achieving their certification goals, the company notifies each person of their status as they progress through the program.
Certification Levels
Available certifications include:
Carrier Ethernet Technical Associate (CETA)
Successful completion of World Wide Packets’ Provisioning and Support Training Course and optional testing certifies students as Technical Associates and qualifies them for the Technical Specialist written exam.
Carrier Ethernet Sales Associate (CESA)
Successful completion of World Wide Packets’ Technical Solutions Training Course and optional testing certifies students as Sales Associates and qualifies them for the Sales Professional written exam.
Carrier Ethernet Services Specialist (CESS)
To attain this certification, students who have received the CETA certification and have direct technical experience with Carrier Ethernet technology may take an optional examination to attain the CESS certification. This certification provides participants with an in-depth understanding and working knowledge of Carrier Ethernet systems, including their deployment, operation and management.
Carrier Ethernet Services Professional (CESP)
To attain this certification, students who have received the CETA certification and have direct technical experience with Carrier Ethernet technology may take an optional additional examination to attain the CESP certification. This certification provides participants with an in-depth understanding and working knowledge of Carrier Ethernet systems, including their deployment, operation and management.
Carrier Ethernet Services Designer (CESD)
Completion of both World Wide Packets’ CESS and CESP certifications within a six-month period automatically certifies students as Carrier Ethernet Services Designers. Alternatively, students may first become Design Associates by completing the Fast Track Training Course and an optional written exam. Upon completion of an optional Carrier Ethernet Services Designer exam and obtaining direct Carrier Ethernet experience students attain the CESD certification.
Carrier Ethernet Services Expert (CESE)
Completion of the CESD certification and subsequent completion of World Wide Packets’ Advanced Features and Network Management training courses, qualifies students for the CESE qualification exam, which leads to the final Practical Lab Exam (PLE). The PLE must be completed within one year of starting the certification program and within six months of completing the CESE qualification exam. Upon successful completion of the PLE, students attain the Carrier Ethernet Services Expert certification.
