Packaged Professional Service Offerings

The World Wide Packets team has successfully completed a variety of service engagements in more than 23 countries to date. Based on it successes with these projects, Professional Services has developed a suite of packaged services that can be deployed as is or customized to meet a client’s particular requirements. Packaged services range from a simple Network Audit to a turnkey Managed Deployment of a new product to any combination of services. Whatever a client’s requirements, World Wide Packets has exactly the right level of service.

Network Audit and Optimization

To ensure that its customers’ networks are functioning at peak levels, the World Wide Packets’ Professional Services team can perform a network audit to identify any network issues that may be hampering optimal performance. A network audit also provides a baseline evaluation of a network when a customer is considering adding new products or deploying new services. During the network audit, tactical improvements for stabilizing and optimizing the network are implemented. At the conclusion of the audit, the Professional Services team provides a report on the results of the audit, as well as a set of recommendations for further network optimization. The Network Audit and Optimization Service can precede other Professional Service offerings such as Managed Deployment or Remote Monitoring Services. This service can be purchased once or as a regularly scheduled service to make certain that a customer’s network is current with the latest technologies, changing requirements and security.

Network Assessment and Design

For customers preparing to deploy new hardware products or solutions in their networks, World Wide Packets’ Professional Services provides Network Assessment and Design Services. More than just a design review, this service is a complete review and analysis of a customer’s technical requirements and business objectives, as well as a plan for integrating legacy systems. From project planning to knowledge transfer, from developing business processes to OSS/BSS integration, the Professional Services team works with customers to create reliable and resilient Carrier Ethernet networks. With network assessment and design assistance from the World Wide Packets Professional Services organization, customers can rest assured that they have a structured plan in place for their largest deployments.

  • Managed configuration and deployment

Network Upgrade Services

Network demands can change daily, and network operators must be prepared to meet these demands as they arise. The most effective way of meeting changing network demands is to keep the network infrastructure upgraded with the most efficient, capable and serviceable hardware and software available. But, network upgrades typically mean network outages and the resulting lost revenue. Worse yet, a poorly planned, large scale upgrade can result in days rather than hours of network outages that can cause significant business losses and reputation damage. The World Wide Packets Professional Services team can help its customers avoid this experience. Through careful planning and a variety of failsafe recovery mechanisms, the Professional Service team can keep its customers’ Carrier Ethernet networks operating through a network upgrade. The team provides new hardware staging, installation and testing; hardware re-commissioning; software upgrades; and incremental upgrades and monitoring.

New Feature Deployment

World Wide Packets makes it simple for customers to respond to evolving customer requirements and revenue opportunities with its New Feature Deployment Service. The Professional Services team helps customers add new features and technologies that increase functionality to their network quickly and efficiently. The team works with customers to provide configuration, capacity planning, system integration, installation, testing, and whatever else is necessary to ensure that new feature implementations are completely functional and reliable. New Feature Deployment Services help World Wide Packets’ customers unlock the potential of their networks without the risk. Customers can ensure that their networks are ready to support multicast video, voice over IP (VoIP), multi-protocol label switching (MPLS), provider backbone transport (PBT) and other innovative features as they become available.

Resident Engineering Services

World Wide Packets Professionals Services offers onsite technical services to support its customers’ large scale deployments. Onsite or resident Customer Services and Support engineer(s) work with customers’ engineering and operations staff to provide the technical expertise and knowledge to ensure that the deployment goes smoothly. Resident engineers are available for the entire length of the deployment or during a transition period when there is a gap in customer coverage. Resident engineering contracts are available for short- to medium-term projects, and resident engineers can be engaged for ad hoc engineering projects in support of specific Professional Services engagements.

Custom Software Development

World Wide Packets’ Professional Services team offers Custom Software Development Services to customers and partners that want to add unscheduled features or to expedite planned features to their World Wide Packets’ products and solutions. The PS team will evaluate the requirements of the requested feature then provide a quote for the development of the feature(s) and a timeline for its development.
