LightningEdge® Service aggregation Switch
Purpose Built for Carrier Ethernet Networks
The Lightning Edge 3300 (LE-3300) Service Aggregation Switch (SAS) plays an integral part in World Wide Packets’ Carrier Ethernet portfolio by supporting Carrier Ethernet services such as ELINE, EVPL, ELAN and TLS. The LE-3300 is purpose built to help carriers deliver highly scalable, resilient and cost-effective Ethernet services. This includes Business and Residential Ethernet FTTX offerings, Triple Play, Wireless Backhaul and Ethernet DSLAM Aggregation.
The LE-3300 provides consistent and uniform system and service attributes as well as modularity using the LightningEdge Operating System (LE-OS). LE-OS is a carrier-class Ethernet/MPLS Operating System supported on all products under World Wide Packets’ Carrier Ethernet portfolio. The LE-3300 Service Aggregation Switch is optimized for metro edge applications enabling both high-density Gigabit Ethernet connectivity to the subscriber edge and high performance 10 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks to the Service Provider core. Every LE-3300 control module and line module supports advanced LE-OS features including carrier-class Quality of Service (QoS), link and path protection, service security and network management.
Working closely with Carrier Ethernet standards bodies, World Wide Packets designs all LE-OS enabled switches to meet the needs of carriers, multiple-service operators (MSOs) and service providers in critical areas like end-to-end Ethernet connectivity, high resiliency, scalability, guaranteed traffic delivery, and rapid deployment of advanced new services.
