LightningEdge® Service aggregation Switch
High Availability, Reliability, and Fast Resiliency
The LE-3300 with it’s carrier-class architecture meets the challenge of providing continuous system availability and reliability in Carrier Ethernet deployments. LE-3300 carrier-class reliability and resiliency is supported through highly available hardware architecture by leveraging the following advanced hardware design components:
- Hot-swappable Line and Control Modules, Fan Tray, Power Supplies, and Alarm Module
- 1:1 redundant Control Modules
- Link Protection for 10 Gigabit & 1 Gigabit Ethernet for both equipment and facility failures
- Redundant and load-shared AC or DC power supplies
- Redundant fans for resilient cooling
- Removable Compact FLASH on Control Module, for fast access to the base LE-OS kernel, LE-OS load modules, alternate LE-OS images, and system-specific configuration files
The LE-3300 provides software reliability and resiliency needed to maintain network uptime by supporting the following major features:
- Modularized distributed LE-OS software architecture with a real time kernel
- Industry-leading resiliency with Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (IEEE 802.1w) offering sub-50 millisecond failover and restoration
- Industry standard IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation with Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP)
- End-to-End Services resiliency using CFM (802.1ag etc.)
- Link Level Keepalives or Status exchanges
