World Wide Packets LightningEdge® Small Form Pluggable (SFP) Transceivers are ideally suited for Service Provider Ethernet Access and Aggregation networks, leveraging investment in fiber infrastructure to support revenue-generating Business and Residential Ethernet Services. The SFPs operate in conjunction with the World Wide Packets LightningEdge Product line to deliver a full range of service types, including broadband data, Internet access, business and entertainment video, and telephony using Ethernet transport over fiber and copper facilities.

The World Wide Packets SFP Transceivers enable service providers to quickly deploy additional capacity and increase the utilization of existing network assets, providing a “pay-as-you-grow” approach. New network services can be activated rapidly and with great flexibility, providing immediate return from additional capital expenditures. The World Wide Packets SFP portfolio offers a rich set of choices in terms of interface speeds, distances, and transmission media, including multimode fiber, single mode fiber, copper, and Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing fiber interfaces.

All SFP ports of the World Wide Packets LightningEdge Service Aggregation Switch, Service Concentration Swtich, and Service Delivery Switch products can be equipped with any of the SFP transceivers of the corresponding interface speed, ranging from low-cost short-distance transceivers to very high performance extended reach (100Km+) transceivers.
