World Wide Packets Names Michael Nielsen Executive Vice President of Engineering

Former Lucent Executive to Spearhead Aggressive Product Development

Spokane Valley, WA – June 2, 2005 – World Wide Packets, the leading provider of Ethernet Access Networking Solutions, announced today that Michael Nielsen, PhD. has joined the company as executive vice president of engineering and product management.  Nielsen will oversee the company’s product efforts and shape the continuing development and evolution of its LightningEdge® Ethernet Access solution.

Nielsen has over two decades of engineering experience and industry leadership to offer World Wide Packets.  Prior to joining the company, Nielsen was chief technology officer for Lucent’s Integrated Network Solutions wire line segment. In addition, Nielsen was president of Lucent’s Data Networking Group and led the creation of several strategic partnerships that drove the company’s MPLS strategy.  Before Nielsen joined Lucent he served as senior vice president and vice president at CoSine Communications and Silicon Graphics, respectively.
