WORLD WIDE PACKETS RELEASES LIGHTNINGEDGE 410 ACCESS CONCENTRATOR, DELIVERING TIERED INTERNET, TOLL-QUALITY VOICE AND BROADCAST-QUALITY IP TELEVISION AT GIGABIT SPEEDS WITH THE SIMPLICITY OF ETHERNET

Hudson Valley DataNet Selects World Wide Packets to Bring Broadband Services to Business Customers

Spokane,WA and Newburgh, NY - June 3, 2002 – World Wide Packets announced today the release of the LightningEdge 410 Access Concentrator, designed both to aggregate hundreds of subscribers at gigabit speed and to aggregate multiple LightningEdge 200 Concentrators currently serving office buildings and customer sites requiring the highest service quality and protection. The LightningEdge 410 Access Concentrator supports usage-based statistics and guaranteed rate policies with burst characteristics per subscriber.

The LE-410 separately counts each service for billing, while maintaining traffic policies for diverse services, assuring the ability of service providers to uphold and report on service level agreements. Other features, including pluggable optics, redundant power supplies, and redundant fans assure maximum reliability and flexibility within budget and performance requirements.

The LightningEdge 410 and other Concentrators in the LightningEdge series support diverse network configurations and deliver numerous bandwidth services to multiple subscribers, whether business or residential. "The LE-410 presents the access market with the most complete solution for service aggregation and delivery. It breaks the mold of traditional switches by coupling all the speed, flexibility and ease of configuration inherent to Ethernet with per-subscriber per-service rate policies, usage-based billing counters and industry leading video support", said Bernard Daines, CEO of World Wide Packets.

World Wide Packets will provide the LightningEdge 410 Access Concentrator to Hudson Valley DataNet, a fiber optic facilities-based broadband communications provider located in Newburgh, New York, for a phased build out. "We were searching for a cost effective, flexible and scaleable access solution to offer data services to our current market base and to support our expanding enterprise applications", said Hudson Valley DataNet President, John Galanti. "The combination of World Wide Packets' solution and our service and support allows us to provide scaleable, high-quality integrated broadband services directly to our customers at a very low cost."
