WORLD WIDE PACKETS WINS PROVO METRO NETWORK BUSINESS

World Wide Packets will provide Fiber to the Subscriber® network to Provo, Utah

Spokane, WA and PROVO, UT—April 15, 2002 – World Wide Packets will provide metro access network equipment to the city of Provo for a phased build out to begin immediately. The first phase creates the city's metro backbone, connecting government buildings, schools, and power stations to deliver high-speed data. This phase is expected to be completed by the end of May 2002. Science Applications International Corporation will assist in this phase of building the network.

"By deploying our end-to-end solution, Provo is creating a new model for the delivery of high speed services and securing the City's future in the process," said Bernard Daines, CEO, World Wide Packets.

Provo joins a growing number of progressive municipalities across the United States that realize communications infrastructure is fundamental to a city's economic and social well-being, much like utilities and roads. Municipal leaders are committing to bridging the Digital Divide by providing the necessary infrastructure, then building partnerships with service providers to support business and residential applications.

Said Provo Mayor Lewis Billings, "We are extremely pleased to find a company of World Wide Packet's caliber to assist us with deploying fiber technology to improve city services. This infrastructure is a critical component to supporting every operation in the City including police, fire, traffic control, and most certainly to enhance the reliability of our power system."
